Folder
What is Folder?
A teacher can distribute a number of related files inside a single folder, reducing scrolling on the course page. A zipped folder may be uploaded and unzipped for display, or an empty folder created and files uploaded into it.
Note: A folder can only contain files; not Pages, URLs, Assignments, or other interactive activities.
What is Folder for?
A folder may be used:
-
for a series of files on one topic, E.g, a set of past exams in PDF format, or a collection of image files for use in student projects
-
to provide a shared uploading space for teachers on the course page (keeping the folder hidden so that only teachers can see it)
-
You can both download the whole folder or download individual file in Folders.
Folder setup as a shared space with teachers
Step 1: Add a Folder resource.
In Content, Upload your files, scroll down the page, you will see Common module settings, then change the Visibility to students to Hide.

Step 2: Save and display. You will be back to your Moodle course page.

Step 3: When you click on Turn editing off in Navigation bar and click the folder again, it shows like this:

Note: If you want to make sure that students are not able to see it.
Click on Switch your role to... students at the bottom of Administration Block.
Then you will see the folders show like this: nothing.

Note: You cannot change the row of your file listings.
